Secluded Birulia Jamidar Bari

Few people of Dhaka know about the house of a Zamindar, or colonial-era landlord, hugging the banks of Turag River adjacent to the capital. The Jamidar Rajanikanta Ghosh's House, known only as Birulia Jamidar Bari, is a 20-25 km trip by car on the Mirpur Beribadh. The establishment, containing 11 buildings with people residing in them, can be found upon entering Biruia village. Photo: Mahmud Zaman Ovi

The Jamidar mansion along with two adjacent buildings are now covered with moss while the designs on the wall are crumbing down. Photo: Mahmud Zaman Ovi
