Tapper busy extracting date juice

Demand for date palm juice and molasses goes up with the arrival of winter. But these days, the number of date trees has fallen across the country, making it harder to extract the juice. Mosharraf Hossain, a tapper at Ghior Upazila in Manikganj, remains busy in winter collecting the date juice. His forefathers were tappers as well. Mosharraf worked as a tapper for 10 years and then switched to another profession for a while. Now, he is back to his old profession.
