Online educational platform 10 Minute School has suspended all forms of classes indefinitely.
Around midnight on Friday, the organisation wrote on its Facebook page:
“All live classes at the school, revision classes, and all offline classes at the English centre have been indefinitely suspended from today [Aug 3].”
The 10 Minute School made the statement after the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement called a ‘complete non-cooperation’ programme across the country.
However, the organisation did not explain the reason for its decision.
The organisation’s co-founder Ayman Sadiq could not be reached for comment on the matter.
The government had initially sought to invest in the education platform, but cancelled its plans amid the quota protest movement. The government made the decision after Ayman came out in support of scrapping quotas.
Startup Bangladesh Limited, a state-run investment concern, was to give the organisation Tk 50 million. When the investment was cancelled, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said:
“If anyone disputes Bangladesh, the Liberation War, or Bangabandhu, or takes up positions against them, then the government will take action.”
