Fire at Mirpur CRP under control

Firefighters have brought under control a fire that broke out on the ninth floor of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) at Section-14 of Mirpur area in the city on Friday evening.

Ataur Rahman, the Duty Officer at central control office of the Fire Service Department, told bdnews24.com that the firefighters brought the blaze under control at around 7:05pm after hectic efforts lasting for nearly one hour.

The fire broke out on the ninth floor of the hospital at around 6:20pm on Friday.

No casualties were immediately reported.

The extent of the damage was also not immediately clear.

Seven fire-fighting units were trying to douse the blaze, he said.
