The total lunar eclipse has ended, during which the moon was completely covered by Earth’s shadow, turning a reddish hue.
This celestial phenomenon is being called a “super blood moon”, and it was observed by people across Bangladesh.
A lunar eclipse occurs only when Earth aligns precisely between the sun and the moon.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the eclipse was fully visible from Hilal Island in Indonesia in the east to the port city of Mombasa in Kenya in the west. Partial phases of the eclipse were visible slightly east and west of these points.
Nearly 90 percent of North America, the Caribbean, and South America did not witness the event, it added.
The statement noted that the lunar eclipse began at 9:28 pm Bangladesh time on Sunday night and will continue for a total duration of seven hours and 27 minutes, lasting until early Monday morning.
