He was buried at the family graveyard at Fulgazi around 9:30pm Thursday after funeral prayers, said bdnews24.com Feni Correspondent.
Earlier on the day, people from all walks of life gathered at the National Press Club in Dhaka to bid farewell to the senior journalist.
Noted politicians, senior journalists, academics, cultural activists, civil society members and ordinary people paid their last tributes to Musa by placing wreaths on his coffin.
Musa's body was taken to the Press Club in a hearse at around 12:30pm.
His first namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayer) was held at the Iqbal Road playground in the capital's Mohammadpur after the Magrib prayer on Wednesday.
His second janaza was held at the Press Club after tributes were paid.
The 1999 Ekushey Award recipient breathed his last at LabAid Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon at the age of 83, drawing to a close his six-decade-long illustrious career in journalism. He was on life support for last several days.
After paying his tribute to Musa by placing wreaths, Professor Anisuzzaman told reporters, "I know him for over 60 years. The country will be benefited if it follows the example set by him in the field of journalism."
Veteran journalist Kamal Lohani said: "I know him since 1956 when I started my career in journalism. He was very firm and determined. He was a dedicated jounalist."
Daily Ittefaq’s Advisory Editor Habibur Rahman, veteran journalist Abdur Rahim, National Press Club’s President Kamaul Uddin Sabuj, Daily Observer’s Editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury attended the janaza.
Among others, noted politicians including Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, BNP Standing Committee Member Barrister Moudud Ahmed and BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir took part in the janaza.
Information Minister Inu said: "ABM Musa himself was the creator of history. He was a very honest man. His advices helped Sheikh Hasina's government."
A hearse carrying Musa’s mortal remains left the National Press Club after 2pm for his village home in Feni district where he will be buried at his family graveyard following his last janaja after the Magrib prayers.
ABM Musa had a career spanning 60 years in journalism. He was also a lifetime member of the National Press Club.
Born on Feb 28, 1931, Musa was elected an MP with a ticket from Awami League in the first national election of independent Bangladesh in 1973.
He launched himself in journalism at the age of 19 by joining ‘Saptahik Qaifiat’ in Feni and then ‘Dainik Insaaf’ in Dhaka. Later he joined Dainik Ittefaq.
Afterwards Musa went over to ‘The Pakistan Observer’.
Musa then joined ‘Sangbad’ when ‘The Pakistan Observer’ closed down during the 1952 Language Movement.
But he was back at ‘The Pakistan Observer’ with the paper resuming publication in 1954, and was with it until 1971, first as a reporter and later as its news editor.
During the 1971 War of Independence, Musa worked for the BBC and the Sunday Times.
After independence, he worked as Director General of the state-owned Bangladesh Television and editor for ‘Morning News’.
Musa joined the UN ESCAP in Bangkok in 1978.
He was director general of the Bangladesh Press Institute from 1981 to 1985, and chief editor of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha from 1985 to 1987.
He served as the president and the general secretary of the National Press Club in several terms.
He also worked at dailies New Nation and News Today.
He served as editor at the ‘Daily Jugantar’ briefly in 2004.
Later, he was active in column writing and participating in television talk-shows.
