The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has published the revised fare chart for inter-district and long-distance bus routes, alongside updated fares for routes in Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas.

The government revised bus fares on Apr 23 following a hike in diesel prices.

However, the absence of a detailed fare chart on the day triggered confusion among long-distance passengers.

The detailed fare list was published on BRTA's website on Saturday.

Passengers travelling on the Dhaka (Mohakhali)-Kishoreganj route will pay Tk 401 on 51-seat buses and Tk 511 on 40-seat buses.

Fuel Price Hike and Fare Adjustment

The government raised fuel prices on the night of Apr 18.

Diesel increased from Tk 100 to Tk 115 per litre, kerosene from Tk 112 to Tk 130, octane from Tk 120 to Tk 140, and petrol from Tk 116 to Tk 135.

Following the increase, the government revised public transport fares on Apr 23.

In Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas, fares for 52-seat buses have risen from Tk 2.42 to Tk 2.53 per kilometre.

Inter-district bus fares have increased from Tk 2.12 to Tk 2.23 per kilometre.
