The all-rounder will explain himself after his decision to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) without the board’s permission touched off a controversy.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan has criticised the all-rounder for breach of rules.
“I'm on my way back to Bangladesh now. Will make myself clear once I get there,” Shakib tweeted on Saturday.
Earlier, the board asked Shakib to come back from Barbados.
“The board, on Wednesday, noticed that Shakib left without the NOC (No-Objection Certificate). Our question is, why did he leave when he was told to stay?” Hassan told repoters on Saturday.
He had some strong words for the Top Bangladesh all-rounder.
“He can't just apply at night and leave next morning. It shows he doesn’t care. And it was not necessary for him to leave on July 2.”
Shakib’s first match at the CPL is scheduled for July 11, according to Hassan.
“Our camp started on Tuesday. He (Shakib) didn’t join the camp though he was available then. He was instructed to stay in Bangladesh after his application for NOC was received. He should have known that he will have to return without the NOC.”
