The training camp began on July 1.
Shakib, currently in London, was headed for Barbados to participate in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
"Shakib has been told to join the camp immediately," Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the board's acting CEO said.
A decision regarding Shakib's release for the start of CPL is likely to be taken at a board meeting on July 7. The decision remains pending due to a 'lack of clarity' concerning the No-Objection Certificate, which the 27-year-old requires from the board, according to ESPNcricinfo.
The Barbados Tridents of the CPL had enrolled Shakib. After the conclusion of the competition, he was expected to join Bangladesh in mid-August, just in time for their visit to West Indies. The CPL is scheduled to run from July 11 to August 10, while Bangladesh's tour of West Indies starts from August 20.
