Bangladesh are weaker in this shortest form of the game compared with the other two versions.
So far, Bangladesh have won only three of their 18 matches in the World T20 and two of the wins came against ICC Associates Afghanistan and Nepal.
The Tigers could not beat any of the big ones after their first match in the first World T20 in South Africa where they had beaten West Indies.
Having played fewer T20 Internationals have not helped their cause, either, while there is no domestic tournament at present.
It leaves Bangladesh with having to take special preparations before every T20 global event.
At a press briefing on Friday, Hathurusingha said he wanted to shape up the team for the event in India in the home series against South Africa.
“We will keep the World Cup in mind to a great deal in this series. We are now thinking about the team coordination and planning,” he said.
“We are trying to find which (tactics) will be effective for us. In the South Africa series, we will keep eyes on these matters.”
The series kicks off on Sunday with the first 20-over tie while the second one will be played on Tuesday.
Both the matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka’s Mirpur.
