Bangladesh see off Nepal to storm into Rollball World Cup semifinals

The hosts beat Nepal 6-3 after netting four times in a commanding first-half display in the quarter-finals of the fourth edition of the tournament at Mirpur Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.

Hridoy hit the target thrice, Shohag twice and Arafat scored the other to secure Bangladesh's best showing in the competition, eclipsing the previous best of seventh position.

Bangladesh began the tournament with a 19-1 demolition of Hong Kong in their opener before sweeping past Bhutan 9-2 in the next. An 11-0 rout of Myanmar and victory against Fiji secured their place in the last 16 as Pool D champions.

Bangladesh stormed into the quarterfinals by demolishing Chinese Taipei 12-1.
