Bangladesh Bank on Thursday ordered the banks to keep their branches in these locations open for the benefit of traders and customers.
It also asked them to arrange adequate security in this period of high transactions.
The central bank earlier ordered them to keep the branches open in industrial areas in and around Dhaka, Narayanganj and Chittagong from 9:30am to 12pm on Friday and from 9:30am to 4pm on Saturday to serve factory workers who will be paid salary and bonuses before the Eid.
Banks offering remittance services were also asked to remain open on Saturday before the Eid to keep remittance flow stable and ensure proper distribution.
