The airplane, however, was able to resume its journey within three hours after making the landing on Saturday.

Flight BS-315 left the Dhaka airport at 8:50am, but returned for a landing 15 to 20 minutes later, authorities said.

US-Bangla spokesperson Kamrul Islam told bdnews24.com that the pilot airplane carrying 164 passengers received a signal indicating a small technical glitch soon after takeoff. The signal deactivated soon afterwards, but the pilot decided to make an emergency landing for a checkup over safety concerns.

“The pilot thought that it was best to investigate the glitch as the plane was still in the Dhaka airspace. In consideration of the recent major disaster, they brought the plane in for another check. Such fault signals are not a big deal,” said Kamrul.

The flight took off again at 11:45am after the glitch was fixed. The flight takes three hours to reach Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur.
