Savar Model Police’s OC Abdul Motaleb Mia said the incident happened in Savar’s Vakurta village in the early hours of Saturday.
However, the deceased could not be identified instantly.
The OC said quoting the locals that the men were captured while fleeing after looting money and jewellery from the house of a person called Sunil.
“Both men died on the spot after being lynched by the angry mob,” said OC.
The bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in the morning.
