Dhaka, Feb 6 (BDNEWS) – President Prof Dr Iajuddin Ahmed and Prime Minister Khaleda Zia Monday expressed deep shock at the death of former minister Maulana Abdul Mannan.
Maulana M A Mannan (71) also the founder of the daily Inqilab died on Monday morning at his Banani residence.
In a condolence message, the President said, "Besides politics, Maulana Mannan remains memorable for publishing the daily Inqilab."
The President also recalled his role as a minister.
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy for the bereaved family.
In a separate condolence message Khaleda Zia said, "Maulana Mannan had been active in political arena of this country for long and played a remarkable role in publication of newspaper."
The Prime Minister also recalled his activities in various social fields.
