Man to walk the gallows for killing Mymensingh couple in 2014
District and Sessions judge Md Amir Uddin delivered the verdict on Sunday.
According to case details, convict Golam Mostofa, of Jhenaidah, killed retired public servant Abdul Haque and his wife Raihatunnesa in their house in the town’s Akua Goru Khoar area on the night of Jul 13, 2014.
Haque’s son Hasibul Haque had filed the murder case at Kotwali Police Station later, said court police Inspector Newajesh Ali Mia.
Mostofa had slaughtered the couple as Abdul Haque did not agree to lend him Tk 40,000, Hasibul accused in case documents.
Police submitted the chargesheet accusing Mostofa on Sep 9 that year.
