The mishap took place on the Dhaka-Barisal Highway in Kalkini Upazila’s Gopalpur on Friday noon, local police station OC Kripa Sindhu said.
“We suspect most of those who died were on the microbus,” said Belal Hossain, assistant superintendent of Madaripur highway police.
None of the victims could be immediately identified.
The injured were being taken to medical college hospitals in Barisal and Faridpur, OC Sindhu said.
