From now on, a Ministry of Information department will pick and appoint PROs to different ministries, divisions, departments and agencies, according to a circular.
The information ministry that circulated the order says it will take care of the recruitment, promotion and posting of the PROs.
The circular was issued for “the sake of co-ordination and accountability among the PROs”.
Officials say the circular followed ‘complexities’ over the transfer of the PRO of the Information and Communication Technology Division and the appointment of a new official.
