Four children die in Gazipur boat capsize during Eid joyride

The accident occurred in Baimile area on Saturday afternoon, locals said.  

The victims are Mim, 8, Sadia, 10, Parvin, 8, and Sohag, 7. Further details about them were not immediately available.

Md Abbas Uddin Khokon, a city corporation councillor, said a group of nine children boarded a small boat at Baimile Beel around 3:30pm.

When the boat capsized due to their excessive movement, five managed to swim ashore.

The locals found the four bodies around 4:30pm, Khokon said.
