Father, son among 3 killed in road accident

A speeding bus ran over them when they were going to the bus station riding a rickshaw after the end of the Akheri Munajat at Tongi on Sunday, police say.

The accident offered in Dourmor of Ashulia at around 2pm, Sub-Inspector of the Turag Police Station Ferdous Ahmed told bdnews24.com.

The deceased were identified as Gias Uddin, 38, of Nabinagar of Brahmanbaria district, his son ‘Yasin’, 9, and one ‘Ripon’, 8, the son of one of their neighbours.

They were rushed to National Institute of Traumatology Orthopedics and Rehabilitation (NITOR), popularly known as Pongu Hospital, in critical condition.

Doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

The driver of the rickshaw and an passersby were also injured in the accident. They were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
