Under the agreement, UAE will recruit 1,000 female workers from Bangladesh in 14 different kinds of jobs including housemaid, driver and gardener.

But that is only in the first phase and more workers would be recruited in future, officials said.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on a three-day visit to Abu Dhabi, is leading the Bangladeshi delegation and is staying at the hotel.

Hossain said the main goal of the MoU is to send female workers through favourable terms and conditions and ensure their security and rights.

He added the MoU was signed between the Bangladesh's Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) and professional labour recruiting agency Amala Group of UAE.

BMET Director General Shamsun Nahar and Amala Group Chairman Humaid Mohammed Al Muhiri signed the MoU on behalf of the respective side.
