Body found in Savar, police suspect rape and murder
The body was recovered from Joinabari area on Friday night, said Superintendent Abul Bashar of Savar Model Police Station.
The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Bulbuli Begum, a worker at Maxcom International Ltd in the district’s Hemayetpur area.
Bulbuli, a Sirajganj resident, was found strangled by a rope. An initial investigation found evidence that she was raped before her murder, said Superintendent Bashar.
Her family has been informed of her death, the police official said. A case will be filed over the incident and those involved are being sought, he added.
The body has taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for a postmortem examination.
