Blasts near BNP HQ, Ctg schoolgirl hurt

Three crude bombs were lobbed from a pro-shutdown procession in Battala alley near Nightingle intersection in Dhaka around 8:00am, Paltan Police Station Officer in-Charge Golam Sarwar said.
Nightingle intersection is adjacent to BNP headquarters.
Police chased and nabbed two from the scene, later launching a search in the area, bdnews24.com Correspondent said.
Some crude bombs were also exploded at Shantinagar area around the same time, bdnews24.com Correspondent said.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old schoolgirl Antu Barua, 14, was injured when Jamaat lobbed crude bombs from a procession in city’s Hemsen lane around 8:00am, witnesses said.
The Arpacharan City Corporation ninth grade student was admitted to Chittagong Medial College and Hospital. She was on her way to private coaching when injured in the explosion.
No other incident of violence was reported in the city since morning, but sporadic explosions and processions were continuing.
BNP men carried out picketing and rally in front of Nasiman Bhaban, bdnews24.com Correspondent reported.
Garment factories and operations at port were running normally, he said.
