Bangladesh officially recognises Kosovo as an independent country
Monday's weekly Cabinet meeting approved the foreign ministry's proposal, making Bangladesh the 114th country to recognise the Balkan country.
Kosovo is a disputed territory in Southeastern Europe that declared independence from Serbia in February 2008 as the Republic of Kosovo.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told the media that so far 113 countries, including the US, UK, France and 36 OIC countries out of 57 have recognised the state.
He said the foreign ministry will make the formal announcement later.
