2 injured in Dhaka bomb explosion
The incident took place in front of Hossain Market around 5am on Thursday, said Inspector (Investigation) SM Shahjahan of Lalbagh Police Station.
A police patrol stopped some youths suspecting them muggers in Lalbagh Fort intersection, Shahjahan said.
The handmade bomb exploded just before searching them.
Injured ASI Kazi Taif Uddin was admitted to The National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, while suspected mugger Al Amin was taken to the police station after providing primary treatment.
