The accident took place in Doha, the Gulf nation’s capital, on Wednesday, said Rabiul Islam, an official of the Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Siraj and Mohammad Jahed, hailing from Chattogram’s Raojan and Fatikchari Upazilas, respectively.

The bodies have been taken to Doha’s Hamad Hospital.

The injured, Jamir Uddin and Sayed Hossain Miah, were admitted to the same hospital in critical condition.

The four were travelling in a vehicle when it was hit from behind by a private car in the Abu Hamour area in Doha, leaving Siraj and Jahed dead on the spot.

Preparations are being made to bring the bodies to Bangladesh as soon as possible, said Rabiul Islam adding that, measures will also be taken to secure compensation from the owner of the car.

Two Qatar-based diaspora organisations formed by the migrant-workers of Fatikchari and Raojan are overseeing the process of returning the bodies in Bangladesh.
