The 21 others trapped in the disaster have died.

More than 300 people were reportedly working at the mine when the accident occurred on Oct 20, the Washington Post reports. Most of the miners were taken to safety, but 22 remained trapped inside.

Two Chinese coal mining executives have been sacked by Shandong Energy Longkou Mining Group in response to the disaster.

A working team has also been set up to help with investigations of mine accidents, reports Xinhua.
