The first-of-its-kind exhibition at the Shilpakala Academy will remain open to all between 11am and 8pm from Nov 1 to 5, the organisers said in a media release on Thursday.
The exhibition titled ‘Healthy Ocean – Healthy People: Keeping the Bay of Bengal safe for Ocean Giants’ offers an opportunity for the visitors to explore the amazing diversity of dolphins, whales, sharks and other ocean giants in Bangladesh’s marine waters, according to the release.
The visitors can also discover why the survival of these threatened ocean giants in the Bay of Bengal is critical to the continued growth and well-being of the nation, it said.
The WCS has invited all to join its team of conservationists and scientists on a guided tour through the attractive displays that combine life-size animal models, interactive games, a short documentary movie, captivating photographs and fascinating facts that bring the wonders of the Bay of Bengal to life.
They will also highlight current efforts to create marine protected areas that aim to support sustainable fisheries and protect threatened ocean giants.
The WCS has been engaged in saving wildlife and wild places through science, conservation action, education, and inspiring people to value nature in Bangladesh for more than a decade.
The exhibition will highlight recent discoveries about dolphins, whales, sharks and other Ocean Giants in our marine waters and current efforts to create Marine Protected Areas that aim to support sustainable fisheries and protect these threatened ocean giants from extinction.
