Thousands evacuate tsunami-prone areas as government warns of a heightened risk of a megaquake
Tsunami waves have followed the quake that has left one person dead
No injuries or damage have been immediately reported
The tremor comes after a bigger earthquake (magnitude 7.5) on Monday in the same region
Local leaders have called for the government to give the disaster which killed over 800 a national emergency status
People in coastal towns in the central and southern Philippines have been urged to immediately evacuate to higher ground or move further inland
"The expected wave heights are low, but you must still move away from the shore," the ministry said on the Telegram messaging app, after the latest seismic activity in the area
A tsunami of 3-5 metres recorded in Kamchatka Peninsula and warnings are issued for Japan, Hawaii, US West Coast and other Pacific nations
