The chief advisor, members of the Advisory Council, leaders of several political parties, the heads of the three services and people from different walks of life attend the funeral of former prime minister Khaleda Zia at the National Parliament premises on Wednesday, Dec 31, 2025.
A vast crowd poured onto Manik Mia Avenue and the surrounding roads and alleyways to take part in the funeral prayers of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Khaleda Zia, Bangladesh’s first woman prime minister and chairperson of the BNP who was widely known as an “uncompromising leader”, has died. She passed away while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Dec 30, 2025.
The Purbachal 36 July Expressway, commonly known as the 300 Feet Road, has transformed into a sea of people as supporters gathered to welcome BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on his return home after 17 years in exile.
