Dhaka, July 26 (bdnews24.com) – Bangladesh posted an impressive 77-44 points victory over Bhutan in the opening match of the Sheikh Kamal International Basketball Tournament.
Bangladesh led the first period 39-24 at the Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium Tuesday.
Mithun caged highest 17 points for the hosts while Rashid and Shoaib scored 11 points each. Chohel top scored with 18 points for Bhutan.
Earlier, President Zillur Rahman inaugurated the five-team meet involving India (West Bengal), Malaysia (Under-18 team), Maldives and Bhutan.
Telecoms operator Citycell is sponsoring the event.
