Jatiya Party chief Ershad names GM Quader as party successor

In yet another turnaround, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has reinstated his brother GM Quader to almost all the posts that he was recently stripped of.

Quader was restored as the party’s co-chairman on Thursday. And on Saturday, Ershad nominated his brother to deputise for him as chairman in the party chief’s absence.

Ershad, known for his erratic decision-making, announced the decision in a letter to the party.

“On Mar 22, I issued my instructions in a signed letter which was circulated by the media. I am rescinding the instructions in that letter,” he said.

“I would like to remind party members  at all levels that in my absence or when I am abroad for treatment, the party’s present co-chairman GM Quader will act as the chairman of Jatiya Party.”
