Special Judge’s Court-9 Judge Sheikh Hafizur Rahman has ordered all the accused to be present in court on the day.

In a hearing on Sunday, Anti-Corruption Commission lawyer Mosharaf Hosaain Kajol told the court that the case was tried at both home and foreign courts. Foreign investigators have been called upon to testify on their reports.

On the other hand, Khaleda's lawyers Abdur Rezzak Khan and Masud Ahmed Talukder petitioned to the court to push back the hearing date and said that they will raise objections regarding the matter.

They said that the case was important and the hearing should be held in the presence of all the accused.

On Nov 22 Attorney General Mahbubey Alam submitted the investigation report of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the US FBI to the court. He also petitioned to collect signatures of some personnel from the Canadian police and the FBI involved in the investigation.

The other accused in the graft case are former minister Moudud Ahmed, former state minister AKM Mosharraf Hossain, former chief secretary Kamal Uddin Siddiqui, former secretary Khandaker Shahidul Islam, former senior assistant secretary Syed Yousuf Hossain, former BAPEX general manager Mir Moinul Haque, former secretary of BAPEX Shafiur Rahman, businessman Gias Uddin Al Mamun, former Dhaka University president Salim Bhuiyan and vice president of Nike's South Asia Kashem Sharif.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been serving time in jail after receiving two prison sentences. The Election Commission has barred her from contesting the coming 11th parliamentary election.
