He made the comment hours after the BNP accused the Election Commission of providing special privileges to the ruling Awami League.

“They have become desperate out of frustration. In fact, their ranking in people’s support has touched the bottom. They have realised it,” said Quader in a news briefing at the party president's offices in Dhanmondi on Friday.

BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, in a news conference, said that the Election Commission has turned into an office for the Awami League. “The Election Commission is providing ruling party members with information and easy access to its offices.”

Criticising Jatiya Oikya Front leaders for forging an alliance with the BNP, Quader said, “All communal forces are now choosing the sheaf of paddy.”

“Democracy had been a disguise for them for so long. They have always talked big on the Liberation War. They now joined hands with the communal forces just to go to power. Their real identity is that they are the communal forces. We will battle them out.”

Eleven registered parties will compete in the 11th parliamentary election with the sheaf of paddy.
