The protest march will be followed by a rally in Rajshahi on Nov 9.

The announcement was made from a public meeting held at the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Tuesday to galvanise its campaign against the government.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who presided over the public meeting, has also announced a protest march to the Election Commission if it declares the polls schedule before the Jatiya Oikya Front reaches a consensus.

The alliance repeated its election-time demands, including the resignation of the government, dissolution of parliament and reforms to the Election Commission.

It was the first public meeting of the Jatiya Oikya Front in Dhaka, which came after its previous rallies in Sylhet and Chittagong.

Public meetings will also be held in Khulna, Barishal and Mymensingh, Fakhrul said without announcing the dates.

The alliance led by Dr Kamal Hossain will have a second round of dialogue with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban on Wednesday.
