The letter was delivered to Bangabhaban, Badruddoza’s Press Secretary Jahangir Alam told bdnews24.com on Tuesday.

“Jukto Front leaders are interested in discussing some important issues with you. According to the constitution, the Election Commission is the gatekeeper of the election. The Election Commission is fully controlled by the president during the polls. Accordingly, we want to discuss the power and responsibilities of the Election Commission to make the election process neutral,” the letter reads.

Badruddoza, also the Bikalpadhara chief, requested the president to set the meeting date ahead of Nov 8 when the EC was expected to announce the polls schedule.

Meanwhile, Bikalpadhara Secretary General Abdul Mannan also wrote to the chief election commissioner seeking time to meet him.

Jukto Front led by Badruddoza participated in talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Nov 4.
