Azad is the acting general secretary of the Ullapara branch of the party.

“Azad had been accused in 20 cases of violence,” said OC Dewan. “Police detained him and were on their way to the station.”

“A group of Awami League and Jamaat activists led by local ward Awami League General Secertary Khoka stopped the team in the Kaira Chorpara area. They then snatched Azad from police while he was still in handcuffs.”
