The JP co-chair made the request after four years for what she called to 'save the image of her party'.
Taking the floor in parliament to speak on the president's speech, Raushon said, "I had requested the prime minister to withdraw our ministers. But you did not do that.
“We could not act as an opposition party (in the House). How can we be an opposition party this way?" she asked.
Prime Minister and Leader of the House Hasina was present at the time.
The Jatiya Party became the opposition in parliament with Raushon as the leader after it contested the 2014 elections following much drama amid boycott of the BNP.
Besides ministerial positions, party chief HM Ershad has been made special adviser to the prime minister with the status of a minister.
The Jatiya Party leaders, including Raushon, have defended their position on several occasions, though.
Ershad has often threatened to leave the government.
He has termed 'shameful' having its leaders as ministers despite being the opposition in parliament, and said the Jatiya Party ministers would resign if Hasina allowed them to do so.
Ershad’s wife Raushon on Tuesday made it clear that they were waiting for Hasina’s decision on the issue.
“(It would be better) If you (the PM) could ask them to leave the ministries," she said.
Someone from the Treasury bench said at the time the prime minister had asked the Jatiya Party leaders to leave their ministries.
“No, you (Hasina) haven’t (ordered them to leave). How won't they follow your instructions? ” Raushon replied.
“We feel ashamed when we talk to journalists. We are neither the ruling party nor the opposition. We can’t identify ourselves while travelling abroad,” she added.
When Raushon was speaking, State Minister for Local Government Ranga was seen smiling while Environment and Forest Minister Anisul was staring at his leader.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, president of JaSoD, and Social Welfare Minister and Workers Party chief Rashed Khan Menon, both partners of the ruling party, were also smiling at that time.
The prime minister at the beginning of her speech thanked the Jatiya Party for playing the role of a ‘constructive opposition’.
She also mentioned many amendment proposals brought by the Jatiya Party during the passage of laws.
“An example of the proper practice of democracy has been set in parliament,” she said.
