Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir says they would resume the protest programmes on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters at Khaleda’s office in the capital’s Gulshan on Wednesday night, he said they would announce fresh programmes on Thursday.

BNP chief Khaleda is behind bars after a special court sentenced her to five years in jail for corruption in Zia Orphanage Trust on Feb 8.

Her party demonstrated for five days demanding release of their leader. The protests ended with a hunger strike on Wednesday.

The lawyers for Khaleda are yet to make a move for her bail or challenge the special court verdict.
