Sohel stands accused in three cases started over attacks on the police led by ‘BNP activists’ outside the High Court on Jan 30. The BNP claims the attackers were infiltrators and did not belong to the party.

Sohel, president of Dhaka (South) BNP, escorted party chief Khaleda Zia on her way on Sylhet on Monday.

Khaleda returned home around 3am Tuesday after visiting two shrines in the north-eastern district.

Police picked up Sohel from his home in Dhaka’s Malibagh early on Tuesday, Rizvi has alleged. “We do not know where he was taken to and how he is doing now. We condemn this.”

RAB’s media wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan rejected Rizvi’s claim when approached by bdnews24.com. A similar response came from DMP (Ramna) Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hossain.
