The research wing of the ruling party in a statement on Sunday said 35 MPs took part in the first of a series of workshops on ‘National Campaign Strategy’.

The main focus of the workshop was to discuss the strategies that can be adopted by the party for the national-level campaign in the next parliamentary elections, it said.

Discussions ranged from the effective use of social media, to enlisting more women and youth voter support, to using evidence-based research such as public opinion polls and focusing group discussions to design national and local campaigns.

The session was moderated by CRI Trustees Radwan Mujib Siddiq, grandson of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and Nasrul Hamid, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

CRI Executive Director Sabbir Bin Shams was also present.

Senior Analyst of the CRI Barrister Shah Ali Farhad made a presentation on ‘Considering Public Opinion: An Analysis of Trends in Media Coverage and Public Opinion Polls’.

CRI said it would continue to conduct more such workshops with MPs in the coming months.
