BNP chief Khaleda visiting Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar Monday

Khaleda Zia is going to Cox's Bazar to visit Rohingya refugee camps during a four-day tour.

She will visit the refugee camps at Balukhali, Boalmara and Jamtoli on Monday.

The BNP chief will start for Chittagong at 10:30am on Saturday, the party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told bdnews24.com on Friday.

She will take a break at Feni Circuit House for lunch after starting for Chittagong. She is expected to reach Chittagong at night and stay at the Circuit House there.

The former prime minister will be headed for Cox's Bazar at 11:30am on Sunday and arrive in the district at night. She will be spending the night at the Cox's Bazar Circuit House.

After visiting the refugee camps on Monday, she will return to Chittagong the same day and to Dhaka on Tuesday. 

BNP National Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury told bdnews24.com that the party has no other programme than distributing relief materials among the refugees in Ukhia.

Khaleda earlier went to Cox's Bazar in 2012 after attacks on Buddhists at Ramu. She had taken the same route during that visit.

The BNP chief has called the government for sheltering the Rohingyas after the latest exodus started following a Myanmar Army operation in response to insurgent attacks on security forces on Aug 25.

She has also demanded safe repatriation and rehabilitation of the Rohingyas by Myanmar.
