The fifth special judge's court issued a warrant after Khaleda did not attend the hearing on the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case while a metropolitan magistrate also ordered her arrest in a libel suit.

The former prime minister has been in London for the last three months.

"The courts issued arrest warrants in two cases on the same day. It's a ploy by the government so that she can't return home," Khaleda's counsel Sanaullah Mia told bdnews24.com.
