They are organising the reception on her return after earning accolades for her campaign for the safety of the Rohingyas at the United Nations General Assembly in New York last month, the ruling party's Joint General Secretary Mahbub-Ul Alam Hanif told bdnews24.com

An aircraft with the prime minister on board is scheduled to touch down at Shahjalal International Airport at 9:25am.

Hanif said the senior leaders of the Awami League and its partners in the ruling 14-party coalition would be at the airport's VIP Lounge to welcome the partuy president before 9am.

"After the reception at the airport at 10:30am, she will drive through the VIP road (Kuril Biswa Road-Banani-Mohakhali-Jahangir Gate-Bijoy Sarani-Ganabhaban)," Hanif said.

"Leaders of the Awami League and its affiliates will be on the two sides of the street from the airport to Ganabhaban," he added.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader had earlier promised 'no public sufferings due to the reception'.

The prime minister in her address to the General Assembly on Sept 21 emphasised a solution to the Rohingya crisis, urging world leaders to take steps for stopping violence in Myanmar that pushed the current exodus of refugees.

On Sept 25, she underwent a gallbladder surgery after feeling pain suddenly while spending some time with her son Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy and his family in Virginia.

She, however, maintained communication with Dhaka and worked online.

Last Monday, she went to London, where her sister Sheikh Rehana's daughter Tulip Siddiq is an MP.
