After reaching Heathrow Airport on Sunday, the BNP chairperson had checked in at the Hilton Hotel.

But she stayed there only for a few hours before moving to Tarique’s southwest London home, her Personal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar told bdnews24.com.

The BNP’s UK chapter leader MA Malek has also confirmed bdnews24.com of Khaleda’s new residence.

Tarique, his wife Zubaida Rahman and daughter Zaima Rahman live in that house along with the wife and daughters of his late younger brother Arafat Rahman Coco.

BNP leaders and activists are not allowed to frequent that house, where Khaleda is now spending time with her son, daughters-in-law and granddaughters.

Sattar said the BNP chief will go to the hospital this week for eye treatment.

This is the former prime minister’s third UK visit since she lost power in 2006.

Party leaders are saying she is solely here to get treatment for her eyes and legs. But the visit prior to announcement of a new campaign and an outline for a polls-time government has generated excitement in the political circles.

The senior vice chairman of the party, Tarique has been living in the UK since 2008. His mother has always met him in London after he had moved from Dhaka.

Her last visit to London began on Sep 16, 2015. She had spent the Eid with Tarique and Coco’s families before returning to Dhaka after one and a half months.

On Sunday evening local time, Tarique and Zubaida had received Khaleda at the airport. They were accompanied by hundreds of local BNP leaders and activists.

She will stay in London for as long as it takes to complete her medical treatments, BNP leaders had said before her departure.
