“I don’t want to talk about the BNP. They often express unrealistic views. I don’t care,” he told reporters while distributing relief among the flood-hit people in Fenchuganj in Sylhet on Friday.

He was asked by the reporters to comment on the BNP’s allegation of anomalies and corruptions in relief distributions.

The finance minister said “the country has sufficient food. There is no shortage. Moreover, rice is being imported”.

Muhith said the food supplies and financial aid to the flood victims were also adequate.

He was in his constituency at Islampur in Fenchuganj to see for himself the flood situation and distribute relief materials among the affected.

Muhith also addressed a rally presided over by the Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar.
