A two-hour search yielded nothing.

Police said they had a search warrant, but the BNP alleged that law enforcers acted on an unknown general diary only to harass the party chief.

Sohrab Hossain who works at the office told bdnews24.com that police personnel entered the office at 7.30am on Saturday without any prior notice.

"First they blocked both ends of the road in front of the office and then started the search," Sohrab said.

Earlier in the day, Gulshan Police Station OC Abu Bakar Siddique said: "We have a court order to check if there is anything in the office that could compromise national security.”
