They have also removed Manna’s photo from both archives.

Chhatra League supporters at DU also set fire to the Nagorik Oikya convener's photo.

Former Awami League leader Manna had served as DUCSU’s VP for two terms in 1979 and 1980.

After a phone conversation between BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka and an unidentified person was leaked, Manna became the talk of the town.

The Chhatra League’s ire was also provoked by the leaked conversation.

Chhatra League’s Vice President Joydeb Nandi told bdnews24.com that students of the Dhaka University would not accept such atrocious comment of Manna wherein he talked about orchestrating killings in the university to oust the government.

“We won’t let his name stay anywhere in this university,” he said.

The two leaked audio clips that bdnews24.com released on Sunday had stirred the nation and ignited much political debate.

In the audio clips Manna was heard advocating army’s intervention in the Bangladesh’s current situation.

He also talked about engineering few killings in the university to strengthen BNP-led coalition’s movement.

His family members claimed that on Monday night, a group of people, identifying themselves as detective branch personnel, had picked him up from his brother’s residence.

Police, however, have denied either detaining or arresting Manna.

Manna’s name deleted from CUCSU

After DUCSU, Manna’s name was removed from CUCSU also, bdnews24.com’s Chittagong University Correspondent reported.

MA Khaled Chowdhury, general secretary of Chittagong University Chhatra League’s dissolved committee, led a group of activists who stormed CUCSU and wiped off Manna’s name from the board that held the list of former leaders.

They also took down his photograph.

Chowdhury told bdnews24.com: “It is unacceptable that a former student politician talks of killings. So we have erased his name from CUCSU’s list and are demanding cancellation of his studentship and certificate.”

Manna was elected the CUCSU general secretary in 1972 polls as a JaSaD Chhatra League nominee while he was a student there.
