General Secretary Ruhul Amin Majumder of National FF Foundation, an organisation for the welfare of freedom fighters, filed libel case on Feb 19 last year after Siddiqui had called former home minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir ‘Razakar’, or a collaborator of the Pakistani rulers.

Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh issued the warrant on Tuesday and set Dec 11 for submission of a report on the execution of his orders.

Lawyer Mahbub Hasan Rana told bdnews24.com the warrant was issued due to KSJL president's failure to appear in court on the scheduled day.

The magistrate has also issued a show cause to the case's plaintiff for not showing up at court.

Majumder alleged in the case that Siddqui said in a meeting at the Institution of Engineers on Sept 1, 2012 that Alamgir tried to defend Pakistan as an additional deputy commissioner of Mymensingh.

He said during the 1971 Liberation War, the former home minister also raised and provided money to Al-Badr and Al Shams vigilante militias to aid Pakistan Army.

It was impossible to run war crimes trial having a Razakar within the government, plaintiff Majumder observed in the case,

He complained that Kader Siddiqui's statement slandered the stature of the freedom fighter.
