Music can even end war, she told fans during a concert in Dhaka on Friday.

“Song is all about love. In my view, song is love. Sing your song. Song can end any war,” she said.

“Bhalobasi" - the Jamaican-British singer uttered the word love in Bangla as well.

“Life is difficult… music can solve,” she said.

Mitchell, who turned 66 on Thursday, thanked the audience for wishing her on her birthday.

“Now I feel like a devoted child of God,” she said.

Boney M began the performance with hits “Sunny” and “Take the heat off me” from its 1976 debut album.

Boney M was put together by German singer-songwriter Frank Farian who also produced most of the vocals for the group, which stormed to the top of the charts in the late 1970s with a string of disco hits.

The group, based in Germany, broke into the charts with "Daddy Cool" and "Sunny" in 1976.

Their version of "By the Rivers of Babylon" sold nearly two million records in Britain alone, keeping it No 1 for five weeks two years later.

In 1978, Boney M was the first Western music group invited to the then Soviet Union.

The original Boney M disbanded in 1986. Now, after a solo career, Mitchell is touring, billed as Boney M featuring Liz Mitchell.
